A decision support system (DSS) is a computer program application that analyzes business data and presents it so that users can make business decisions more easily. It is an "informational application" (to distinguish it from an "operational application" that collects the data in the course of normal business operation).
The Importance :
-time savings :-reduce time taken to induce a solution of a specific problem,increase productivity as well.
-cost reduction :- cost saving from labor savings in making decisions and from lower infrastructure or technology costs.
-increase accuracy:-improved forecasting accuracy as the system have complete set of previous data to make a prediction.
