Basic Concept of Software and Hardware.

the Definition

Hardware : refers to the physical components of a computer that perform the input, processing, storage       

and output activities.

                      

                        : consideration about the hardware used must be meet the objective of a specific system to be develop.

Software : consist of computer program that control the working of computer hardware.

                     : set of program that designed to coordinate the activities and function of hardware

Hardware without software is useless,software without hardware is waste.

                             Data vs Information vs Knowledge

Data :  Consist of raw facts

                        Represent real-world things

Information : collection of data that organized and been process with additional value.

Knowledge : awareness and understanding of a set of information that are useful to support a specific task of decision making.

Information System Flow :

exp : we do need to input DATA and the DATA will being process in order to get an INFORMATION as the output. The INFORMATION is use to make some decision known as KNOWLEDGE.

Decision Making Aid System

Decision Support System :

A decision support system (DSS) is a computer program application that analyzes business data and presents it so that users can make business decisions more easily. It is an "informational application" (to distinguish it from an "operational application" that collects the data in the course of normal business operation).


The Importance : 

-time savings :-reduce time taken to induce a solution of a specific problem,increase productivity as well.

-cost reduction :- cost saving from labor savings in making decisions and from lower infrastructure or   technology costs.

-increase accuracy:-improved forecasting accuracy as the system have complete set of previous data to make a prediction.
